Pastoral Juvenil (JovenTeen) In Latino cultures, "Joven" are young people ages approximately 11-18 and ministry with them is called "pastoral juvenil". The USCCB recognizes all these categories and understands the vastness of this age demographic. What unites them all is their youthful enthusiasm and energy, but also the challenges of transition and discovery. Youth and Young Adult and Pastoral Juvenil ministries celebrate the excitement and optimistic outlook of younger generations and offers pastoral care for those in transition.
"Youth Ministry is important in the life of the Church! In this grace-filled moment, you and I are called, by the Lord, to do this important ministry."
It is an exciting time to be involved in Youth Ministry in this 'moment of grace,' especially with the election of Pope Francis. His humility, simplicity and example is prompting the world, especially among young people, to give the Church a 'second look'.
